Englewood Beach Waterfest

After Waterfest organizers had to postpone the Paddlefest (https://englewoodbeachwaterfest.com/events/paddlefest/) event set to take place this weekend, our fingers are crossed that red tide doesn’t also ruin the OPA/APBA Offshore World Championship that’s scheduled for this upcoming weekend (Nov. 17-18). In addition to watching last year’s winner Miss GEICO and other race boats doing 200 mph, there’s also the free Englewood Beach Waterfest Block Party on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., where folks can get up close to over 40 race boats and the race teams lined up on Dearborn Avenue in historic downtown Englewood.
